Get Involved

It takes a concerted effort to move the needle forward.

Here are some causes we care about.

Lots of news about networks of powerful people, many of them men, being involved in human and sex trafficking lately.

It’s tough to know how to help, but here are tips to get started:

Act Against Genocide

Congo πŸ‡¨πŸ‡©

  • The Congo has been plagued with civil unrest for decades, with a death toll of 6 million people since 1996. It is the deadliest conflict since World War II and the fourth largest internally displaced persons crisis in the world.

Conflict minerals such as cobalt and coltan (used in smartphones and electric cars) are mined in the Congo using exploitative measures nearing slavery-like conditions. Men, women, and children as young as six years old work 12-hour days in the mines without protective equipment, often having to pay militias to gain access and earn a living. These operations fund a bulk of the armed forces terrorizing local civilians.

Palestine πŸ‡΅πŸ‡Έ

  • In the late 19th century, the Zionist movement emerged, advocating for the establishment of a Jewish homeland in Palestine. The British then issued the Balfour Declaration in 1917, expressing support for a "national home for the Jewish people" in Palestine.

We’re skipping many steps but the 1948 war between Palestine and Israel, also known as the Nakba, led to the displacement and dispossession of many Palestinians at the hands of the Israeli who would take over the homes and neighborhoods previous inhabited by Palestinians. Since October 7, 2024, when Hamas, a Palestinian resistance group, launched an attack on Israel, the latter has retaliated repeated and continuously, leading to the deaths of over 23,000 Palestinian people in Gaza, where 40% of the population under 18, over the last few months.
